Aims:
For pupils
to integrate English Poetry skills with ICT skills:

to find a vehicle for ICT skills through the English curriculum

children to write poetry who otherwise might not have done
so.
For pupils
to use interactive whiteboards to present their poems.
Curriculum
Aims: Twofold:
1.
English: Importance of sound and shape in poetry.
· Calligrams (simple)(understand and create one)
· Shape poems (complex) (understand and create one)
· Onomatopoeia (understand and use)
· Ability to write instructions on how to write a
shape poem
· To be able to write a review on shape/sound poem
2.
ICT: To present information in a variety of forms
· To create good quality presentation in a form that
is sensitive to the needs of the audience
· To use ICT including e-mail, to share and exchange
information effectively

· Pick a pilot group
· Introduction to several models of shape words,
shape poems using booklet collection
· Choral work on 'A Weekend the Country'
· Oral feedback/discussion
· Shape words.. H/wk write some
· Calligralligrams (concrete poems) (simple)
· H/wk write one
· C/wk how to create/find the/a shape using ICT
· Fill the shape with relevant words (dictionary/thesaurus
work)
