Creating a Newspaper
Project Aim:
To share and communicate ideas with pupils around the school in the form of a newsletter. We plan to publish the newsletter termly and hope for a great response.
In the future we would like to include video recordings and photographs.

Kamini Lutchman is running the school's ICT project for the Web-Wise Wapping network. Kamini has been impressed with pupils' enthusiasm in using ICT as a medium.

"We hope to draw ideas from other work they are doing in their subjects and topics of interest to them. They will need to think about how they write for an audience."

"The laptop computer has been really useful I have been able to use it at home and have taught myself a lot more about Word and the Internet since having it."

Deputy headteacher Emlin Registe overseas the project in the school.
"We will be able to use the funding from the Trust to gain some additional ICT resources in addition to the two laptop computers."

The school is providing around two hours project time per week - linked with the literacy and ICT lessons, plus some additional lunchhour time. A mixed group of year 4 and year 5 pupils will put the newsletter together. This will involve research, surveys and interviews.

We will record the school's progress with the project over this term and report it here.
