Rebecca Sherwood is the teacher in charge of the project at English Martyrs RC Primary School.
ICT at the school is about to take a leap forward with the completion of the new ICT suite.
It is expected to be up and running by the new year. Up to this point the project will concentrate on developing pupils' abilities to express themselves in text and picture.

Rebecca has already taken her year 4 class through a study of the locality through history and the various occupations of the area by Romans, Celts and Hugonauts. Pupils have been tracing their family's past history to add to this picture. Rebecca is keen that her pupils communicate with pupils in another Wapping school and context in order to compare cultural differences and similarities.

Immediate issues for the project include developing the use of the laptop computers and a scanner, technical support for ICT equipment and staff support for using Think.com.

The project team are helping by providing word-processing software, self-supported study guides for staff in the main ICT applications, and classroom support for developing ICT.

Sister Clare, the headteacher, is pleased with the support that the project is providing the school, and looks forward to what the school will be able to achieve when the new ICT room is finished
